If youre already worried about your weight and diet, indulging in snacks and unhealthy foods will only make you feel worse. Thats the finding of a new study that used prompts from handheld computers to measure the effect of foods high in salt, sugar and saturated fat on 131 women. If the women were in a bad mood before they ate unhealthy food, eating made them feel even worse. Those who were in a good mood before eating bad food, however, reported little change in their emotional state. Reporting their findings to the American Psychosomatic Society conference, Penn State researchers noted the study was unusual in focusing on women who did not suffer eating disorders.
