Dietitians Predict Nutrition Trends

0

Look for more worries about wheat and increasing interest in ancient grains, kale, coconut oil and chia seeds as 2014 goes on. Thats the forecast from a survey of more than 500 registered dietitians conducted by Todays Dietitian and Pollock Communications. The dietitians also predicted a continuing decline in low-fat dieting, while eco-friendly eating will be on the rise. Overall, the experts expect a growing interest in health information, with consumers looking to blogs and TV doctors as well as dietitians; supermarket dietitian is the fastest-growing job classification in grocery stores. (For more on wheat, see this issues Special Report. We covered chia seeds and kale in the March and July 2013 newsletters, respectively.)
