Four Tufts Faculty Honored

The American Society for Nutrition’s 2016 Scientist, Clinician, Educator/Mentor and Young Investigator Awards, presented at the group’s annual meeting, included honors for four faculty at Tufts’ Friedman School. The David Kritchevsky Career Achievement Award in Nutrition was presented to Alice H. Lichtenstein, DSc, Stanley N. Gershoff Professor of Nutrition and director of the HNRCA Cardiovascular Nutrition Laboratory. (Lichtenstein is also executive editor of the Health & Nutrition Letter.) The Mary Swartz Rose Senior Investigator Award went to Jeffrey B. Blumberg, PhD, professor and senior scientist at the HNRCA Antioxidants Research Laboratory, who is a long-time member of the newsletter’s Editorial Advisory Board. Sarah L. Booth, PhD, professor and associate director of the HNRCA and director of its Vitamin K Laboratory, was honored with the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare Nutritional Sciences Award. Susan B. Roberts, PhD, professor and director of the HNRCA Energy Metabolism Laboratory, was awarded the W.O. Atwater Lectureship from the USDA Agricultural Research Service.
