Q: Does raw oatmeal, mixed with plain non-fat yogurt, have the same health benefits as cooked oatmeal? (I hope it does, because it saves me time.)

Answer :  No need to change your morning routine! You’re still getting all the whole-grain goodness of oatmeal, according to Alice H. Lichtenstein, DSc, director of Tufts’ HNRCA Cardiovascular Nutrition Laboratory. “Yogurt hydrates the oatmeal slowly,” she explains. Cooking speeds the hydration process, but of course the cooking itself takes time.
